Nice of him to pay tribute to Kendall now, but he didn't want to know him when he was alive. He made Kendall know he wasn't welcome at Finch Farm. The first time Kendall visited the training ground was 6 years after it had opened, in 2013 under Martinez. Kendall ever wrote about it when he was promoting his autobiography 2 years ago:

It's nice to pay tribute to someone after they've passed but rewriting history makes you look so bad.

‘I’ve not had a conversation with him (Martinez) yet, but I’ve had contact. The previous manager (David Moyes) never wanted any association with me because he wanted to do it himself. No problem, I accept that. The current manager has invited me to the training ground and I’d love to go.’
