Moyes-substitutions

I’m not having a go at Moysie here, I really like the guy , but does anybody else think he leaves it to late to change things . Alcaraz, McNeil and Dibling not brought on . Villa were there for the taking and we dropped 2 points . Roll on Saturday eh
Alcaraz isn't as good as the players who were on the pitch, ditto McNeil.

Dibling is yet to be decided.

So no

Grealish, Dewsbury-Hall and N'diaye were all causing Villa problems, I wouldn't have taken any of them off yesterday.

No because the players on the pitch are better currently. And weren’t having absolute stinkers.

Ndiaye was our top scorer last season and is currently this season, he is one of the few players that can create and score his own chances.

Grealish simply has to be on the pitch every minute he is fit.

So realistically the only other change for any of those 3 is KDH. And he doesn’t strike me as one whose performance level will drop off drastically due to tiredness.

McNeil will get very very few league minutes this season. Dibling is 19 and he will get time, just have patience. Alcaraz will also get minutes but is prone to sloppily giving it away.

Villa have players who can score against the run of play. Changing Alcaraz and KDH could have played to that. If we had made any of those changes and Villa then grabbed a goal, everyone would be having a go that whoever we took off had been a good outlet or offered more defensively that would have prevented it.

Perhaps you are right and Alcaraz (for instance) is not as good as those who were already on the pitch. However, he could have offered fresh legs against a tiring Aston Villa backline which may have swung the pendulum in our favour. That is precisely why a player like Alcaraz should have been introduced in the latter stages of yesterday's match.

If the most desirable outcome isn't achieved it's always easy to assume that different decisions would have produced a more favourable outcome and therefore should have been made. We had control of the game and had Villa under pressure. We just couldn't score. Changing things might have resulted in a goal but it also might have disrupted our rhythm and let Villa back in. We'll never know.

Think has got it right alot this time around do agree would like see him use the bench more esp in the future with dibbling. Hopefully more training with the squad can get more minutes. I thought kdh had a good game yesterday but maybe the sub for alcaraz gives us another option to get a goal
