I don’t think Moyes would have let Brands get away with doing nothing.
I expect him to let the sides that he's built actually have a go at winning a cup. I expect him to change his tactics when his team is capable of doing so. He built two very teams during his time here and he held them both back with his tactics. He had a team that was perfectly capable of winning at his disposal for years, he built it and held it back. All the money in the world won't help you win anything if you play not to lose games instead of playing to win them.I honestly don’t know what you expect from a manager that picks up a side that are heading for relegation and is given no money at all. He’s a football manager not a miracle worker.
Had Moyes been able to spend the Moshiri money then we might have actually challenged for trophies.

Have a look at some of the team that have won the FA Cup since 2009 and tell me that the team we had during that period wasn't capable of winning somthing. I'm not saying he was or is crap. I'm saying there's a reason that he's an almost man and a lot of it is down to his own negativity. How was it a trophy winning team? Man for man it wasn’t nearly as good as the teams that were actually winning trophies.
Yeah I loved Pienaar, Arteta, Jags, Cahill etc, but they weren’t Robben, Scholes, Ferdinand, Lampard..
Yes he could have rolled the dice more but that is levelled at almost every manager at every club.
why what would he do?He wouldn’t give the time of day to a single one of the current crop.
There were a few times when Moyes spent money where the signings didn't amount to much. He spent 4 million on Per Koldrup who only played a game and a half. Beattie was a big money signing that didn't work out. Billy was signed for big money too and didn't impress apart from a final day goal v Portsmouth.I honestly don’t know what you expect from a manager that picks up a side that are heading for relegation and is given no money at all. He's certainly done a good job at West Ham with the money he spent.
The team we had during that time would've trampled any of the arsenal teams that have won since then. Probably the Man Utd one too. You also conveniently left Wigan out of that list for some reason.......I’ve looked. Arsenal won 4, Chelsea won 4, Man City 2 and Man Utd 1. All with better sides. Leicester probably as good if not better too.

Since then he has led them to their best ever Premier League season, has them cruising in Europe, in the League cup and in the top four, and has done it while spending relative peanuts.Very reactive.
Wasn't long ago West Ham fans wanted Moyes out - the covid break saved him.
He got a bit of time but come the end of both Benitez and Moyes careers there will only be one answer on who was the more successful/better manager.
There's also only 3 points seperating the sides.
Benitez will say 8th means nothing.
Moyes will say 8th means manager of the season.
