Moyes on Rodwell

I think Rodwell's got everything to great, lacks a little agression. (not in fouling and snarling) but in really running at people and having a go, or shifting the ball and having a shot. His Man U goal shouldn't be a rarity.

He also shadows people alot. "holds them up" without actually effecting them, he gives up too much ground, needs to face them up, let them come so far and then get closer and force them to pass it sideways, backwards or make a tackle. agressively hold them up.

There was an example against sweden, where he shadowed some fella all the way to the 18 yd line and then let him have a shot.

some of you may know where I'm coming from.....

Great potential for the young lad though, and nothing he can't fix.

Felli, rodders and Barkley make a very exciting CM trio for the future. You could be looking a good 10 yrs partnership with those guys if we can build good enough around them to compete and therefore keep them all at the club.

If we can then get drenthe on a perm deal and add the likes of holtby and maybe someone like benega that would be quite a selection of players. Plus other young ones... Green, guaye ect

Just need a bit of cash eh!

'A lot of the discussion at the moment is what is Jack's best role. I think it's probably getting forward from midfield and joining in up front. He's got a goal in him and two really good feet.

Can we finally put to bed all talk of this "he'll we a world class centre half one day..." that all the ted pundits seem to spout...

Ive always said this, the lad has the ability power, pace, athleticism, presence, techniuqe and talent to be a top attacking midfeilder - kind of in a Stevie Me role, but a bit different. Moyes is right though after developing consistency, he now has to impose his talent and dominate games, still think Jack is playing at about 68% of his potential.

Rodwell-Mofro-Barkley

*Swoons.

I agree Neiler.

Going missing is a real problem in games. This is usually down to the opposing team changing tactics and stopping him being influential in the game, usually 2nd half. This is where Jack needs to improve his game. Refusing to be stopped and trying to dominate the centre of the pitch for the full 90+ mins.

Jack can do it. I think he's getting better and better.

Its defo in his locker, i think Moyes is trying to teach him, tactical discpline if im honest and i think that inhibits him to a degree as roles in the Everton team have to balanced from a defensive and offensive point of view. I think if he played in a five at say Utd and was deshackled a little more then he is with us, i think you will see a different player in Jack. That said i think his natural disposition is to be steady, unassumeing and cautious, the greatest kick of the back side he has gotten thus far is his career is the emergence of Ross Barkley which has forced him kick on a bit. I can see him as that maurading central midfeilder breaking from deep with power. He has 8-12 goals in him a season.

Rodwell has all the technical ability required. What he really lacks is the drive to get on the ball. I hope it comes. He reminds me of 16/17 year old boys playing mens football(lower league) where they hide from the ball and wimp out of challenges. He is , however, growing a bit over the past few games and he really should be confident at the moment.....

Then why does his play him deep and never off a striker?

Moyes doesn't know his best position either.. .defensive mid, er center half, er hold on atacking mid.

Fellini gets forward more than rodders

I still don't see these apparently good attacking qualities in him. Everything I see suggests he could be a top class centre half in the mould of Rio Ferdinand, but he lacks - and never will gain - the drive and aggression of a Steven Gerrard to be the sort of player Moyes is talking about. He's too composed to do that.

Jack needs to be more aggressive as an attacking midfielder, Moyes has to take the shackles off the kid and let him express himself. I know people think he should be still nurtured as hes only 20, well i think thats total bollocks..
Hes been in the first team since he was seventeen, and now a fully fledged international... No excuses anymore DM..

FFS!!

I dont think Moyes sees him as an out an out attacking midfielder, more of a central midfielder who'll break forward and support the attack. If he's got Fellaini sitting beside him as well, he'll have the cover to do so as well.

But there lies the problem mate,, David Moyes has got to go attack minded, with the whole of Ebepton...

We just cant go on playing not to loose,, lets have a go at Wolves.

Its getting serious now, we need to attack, we need to put a statement of intent on this match....

COYB,s FFS!!

I don't understand this at all, but I'm open to anyone telling why they think this.
