Sky Sports | Football News | Premier League | Everton | Moyes hopes to keep Saha

Everton boss David Moyes hopes to secure Louis Saha on a new contract, but acknowledged the club could lose the striker at the end of the season.
Saha's

expires next summer and reports have suggested the France international wants to move to the continent.
The 31-year-old has scored 15 goals in 38 Premier League appearances since joining the Toffees from Manchester United

in 2008 and has established himself as a key player for the club when fit.

confirmed talks have taken place regarding an extension for Saha, who has been linked with Atletico Madrid,

Bordeaux and Roma.
"We've been speaking to him," said Moyes. "We are happy with him and we want to keep him.
"But we know the situation. He is free to talk to other clubs from January."
The Everton chief also revealed that Saha, who has endured an injury-plagued last few seasons, has been troubled by a calf complaint.
He added: "He's been complaining about a calf strain and not feeling 100 per cent. We've brought him in and out.
"It was the same earlier in the season. I can think of Fulham in particular.
"It got him up and running and he was flying again. It made a difference and helped him to get back into it."

Sounds like he has given an indication that he wants to stay!

Louis strikes me as good sort and is enjoying it here - despite the huge difference in service and style he would have been used to at Man U.

Just a cat amongst the pigeons, have we not seen players perform exceptionally well in their last season of their contracts before, only to hand them extensions and then see them go right off the boil? It is also a world cup year, and he certainly wont force his way into the French squad in 2014 at the age of 35 or 36. (Still get him signed up though, but no massive long contracts!)

I think he'll stay if Moyes and the fans want him.

If a club came in and offered him a big payday then I think he'd go though.
