It seems like Moyes is going to up his pursuit of Alan Smith from Man Utd.

He has been a long time target but the injury to Vaughan may be a deciding factor in this.

I personally would be happy to see him come to Goodison, although by no means a hit at Utd he was a more than able centre forward at Leeds and is not scared to get his foot in, ironically in the mould of James Vaughan.

Whether this would affect Senor Beatties time on the payroll at Goodison remains to be seem. We are quite top heavy on strikers at the moment but our only consistent goal threat (classing Vaughan and Anichebe as potential) is Andy Johnson.

Thoughts?

I'd have him in a heartbeat.
Its not always easy to find players with a bit of heart and fight for the cause, and he's one of them.
Ive heard a lot of blues slag him off, and quote his goals ratio at manyoo.
Simple fact of the matter is Sir Fergie in his wisdom tried to turn him into a midfielder, and his goals return consequently is fairly poor.
But I'd give him a shot, by no means a gauranteed starter but if the price is right <4m then he'll do for me.

Do you think they'll take beattie in a straight swap?

btw, where did smigger come from, I thought it was smudge?

Smith have an eye for goal, although he hasn't shown it that often at ManU. Also he has international experience that's valuable to us with us fighting in europe again. And he's also a name recognised outside england so that can also only be a benefit in transferdeals. It's always easier to come to a club when you've heard about players there and know what they can do.

So I'd like for him to come, especially now if Vaughan will be out for "months".

its "smudge" or "smudger" - [Poor language removed] knows why, but it certainly isnt smigger.

good god. !

smith at everton? expect a red card every game.

Just what exactly did the story about the Everton fans @ Bury have to do with Smiggers chico. Or is the an abstract angle I am missing?

Boros bid of 6 mill apparently was accepted but Smith did not want to go there. So looks like we will need 6 mill and that I think is a bit much with his wages on top. Then when vaughan is back what do we do with him. Don't say he will replace BT because is not going anywhere no one wants the buggar.

I knew a Smidger who's surname is Smith. He was a bit of a prick, actually, who thought he was a neo-nazi (he knew [Poor language removed] all about it, really, but had managed to convince himself he was somehow related to der Schmitts). A very damaged soul; he was given the good old English nickname 'Smidger' just to piss him off. He's probably still dreaming up ways to annexe us. :P

Bit of a tangent, but does anyone know any 'Yozzas/Yozzers'?
