moyes decision

I normally prefer McDonalds but this time I'll go to Burger King as I feel in the mood for a big whopper!

That post of yours above is the most deluded I've ever read on an Everton forum and indeed only old Kim Jong-Il of North Korea's claim to have hit 11 holes in one in his first ever game of golf is worse.

Moyes has run his contract down because he's a greedy money-grabber. Full stop.

Loyalty? If he'd signed a contract he'd then ensure Everton got compensation?

Don't bring Kenwright into this. He's stuck by Moyes through thick and thin.

Moyes runs the club from top to bottom. He's signed every player and determines the playing strategy for every team that wears our colours. So for him to come out with "I'll see how the team do and then make my decision" is beyond insulting to every right-minded Evertonian.

I'm deluded - fcuk me

Its just a shame then that you contradict yourself. You say he is a money grabber yet he wont sign a new contract ????? Does that make sense ? Surely a money grabber would have signed a new improved 10 year contract 2 years ago. I would
Have Everton even gone public on trying to offer Moyes a new contract ?

Thank fcuk for Kenwright sticking by Moyes through thick and thin - i dont know where we would be without his and Woods/Earls and Elstones invaluable support. You say Moyes has signed every player, true but the issue is that he hasnt sold every player, has he ?

Has Moyes ever said he'll wait to see how the team do - or is he referring to what sort of backing the that he will get as manager - just like every other premiership manager does.
I see Cardiff's owners have put £60m of their own money in to Cardiff - it looks like another club will be outspending us again next season
But that is fine because Kenwright has backed Moyes through thick and thin

I agree with everything you said Dell, except the Kenwright bit.

Moyes knows that if he signs a contract and the club look for compensation, then no one else will come in for him. Laudrup I believe signed a contract that would allow Swansea around £5 million in compensation when he inevitably goes. Swansea and Laudrup know that he will be in demand and will be offered a good job with a top side so Swansea will get their money and Laudrup will get his new role.

Moyes on the other hand....well he gets linked with Man U, Spurs, Chelsea, German clubs etc, etc. etc. However, in 11 years how many other clubs have made a serious approach for him? It's just the usual Daily Mail twaddle and the fact is that Moyes knows that any club that has to pay Everton for him won't bother and will look elsewhere. He isn't that coveted in my opinion and hasn't achieved anything that this club hasn't already been doing for more than a century (i.e. playing top flight football without actually winning very much).

he is doing whats best for him, either a club comes in and gives him what he wants, bit of money and maybe a chance of winning things europe ect, or he gets an even better contracted out of everton and maybe a few bob more to spend, either way he is on a winner, dont blame him to be honest

This isn't about Kenwright. There's another little threat for that!

In this instance you can think Kenwright is the worst or best chairman ever but it is totally irrelevant to this discussion.

In the Moyes/Kenwright relationship it looks like Kenwright's the old bloke and Moyes if his young bit of fancy. Moyes has him in the palm of his hand.

He's not signing a contract so he can bag a better cheque when/if he goes off. It's exactly the same reason as players do it. Run down the contract and get a nice chunky bonus when you rock up elsewhere. Or to be simply making it as easy and painless to jump ship without any nasty notice periods and contract clauses to deal with.

Note I'm not saying I or all of us wouldn't do the same thing here - being greedy is clearly not a bad thing for the person concerned but don't go praising him for anything.

Moyes has said it's about how the team finishes and performs several times. And do hell with how it destabilise the team in the interim. The media and fans talk about a player not always trying in certain circumstances well how can it be a happy ship with Moyes taking the p*ss over a contract? Seeing how the manager has screwed the club over how will Everton ever be able to get tough with a player wanting to run down his contract in the future?

This season had us in with a chance to get into the top 4 at least. Moyes blew it against Wigan and now could have finished our chances in the league due to his contract situation.

I get what you are saying Dell, but that last bit is not really the case is it? Didn't seem to bother the players when we beat Man City and the subsequent games afterwards.

We're probably going to finish a gnat's arse away from the Top 4. Who's to say a cohesive unit that's building for the next few years might have snuck out a few more points (Fulham, Reading and Norwich are/were the killers in the league for me - the Wigan game I only mentioned because it still hurts)

I'm just saying that Moyes contract stand-off is a very unnecessary distraction.

I was leaning the same way myself, tbh.

But I've changed my mind, we'll finish on more points then we tend to get under Moyes. I think 50-65 points and crap performance in both cups is just what moyes gives you. I don't think he's capable of driving a team to more even if he was fully committed and not distracted.

The chairman and the players have come out and stated they are happy with how Moyes is dealing with his contract.

I am sorry but it does appear you are lumping on becuase of your hatred for moyes. You are out of step with the club and frankly they are not intrested in the disgruntled.
