While Moyes Jnr is heading for pastures after 11 years on Merseyside his sprightly 77-year-old dad won’t be following him to Old Trafford.

He added: “I have been scouting for Everton for the past seven years since leaving Rangers and I was 15 years there. I’m still watching hundreds of games every season and enjoying it.

“It would be totally unfair for me to leave Everton and scout for Manchester United.

“I will continue to look for good players for Everton who have been a terrific club to work for.

“I know Sir Alex has decided to leave but I’m not ready for retiring just yet.”

Now that's loyalty. Superb that.

Our scouting is pretty good overall.

It's the lack of money & haggling over fees that costs us.

Coleman & Mirallas spring to mind as bargains.

Anyway, I think this man's loyalty should be praised. Would be the easiest thing in the world to follow his son to Utd.

Anybody know which of our players came in as a result of his scouting?

Surely he's not jetting all over Europe at his age.

Maybe Coleman? Don't think we can put the signings of Baines / Jagielka / Fellaini / Mirallas down to him.

Jelavic sounds like he was recommended by him knowing that he scouted 15 years for Rangers, some signing that turned out to be.

Should follow his son to United tbh.

Sound. Well in Moyes Snr. How would we have coped without you pushing us in the direction of erm...

And the other one, Kenny, no doubt he'll still have his snout in the trough of catering summer training sessions to Everton.

True but maybe his old fella "Gets It" and "US"....ever thought of that.

He's just an old Scottish feller who's supplementing his pension. God bless Everton in the Community. He'd have been stuck in his flat eating fried Mars Bars all day otherwise.
