David Moyes has described his expectations of Everton.
The ambitious boss is demanding that the Club become a force in Europe and in the Premier League.
Moyes was speaking after seeing his side reach the Uefa Cup group stage, climb to fifth in the league and also reach the fourth round of the Carling Cup in the last couple of weeks.
"There is nobody who has bigger expectations than me, including the supporters," he declared to evertonfc.com.
"I expect David Moyes to have winning teams in Europe and good footballing teams. If you want to be a great leader you need big expectations and I want to be a great leader of a great football club that we are trying to bring back to success."
And the boss, in charge for over five years now, is confident that there are some good times ahead.
"It has been a long time since any form of success and we are trying to get the club back on a proper footing - and I am sure in the future there is going to be a bigger and better Everton," he stated.
"To put it into perspective, we have got through the qualifying round of the Uefa Cup and we have not won anything. But in terms of where we want to go we had to get over that first hurdle and in many occasions during my six years we have not got over that first hurdle - certainly in Europe."
Unsurprisingly, Moyes reported that the mood in the Everton camp was positive, ahead of the trip to Newcastle.
He said: "The mood has been terrific. We had quite a long journey back but the trip went well and hopefully we can now get the players in the right condition to play at Newcastle. We are confident, we won a really difficult game on Thursday and now we move on."

just hope he reaches the hights he wants to reach!!!

love you moysey you and bill have dragged this club from the muddy depts to the hights of the prem!!! just keep kicking upwards and onwards boys(y)

am i the only one to read 'great leader' in a slightly different context?!

kim il sung of north korea styled himself as the 'great leader' and made himself the eternal president of the country even after his death. i wonder if moyes has such visions on efc!!

Well we're riding high after playing some pretty rubbish stuff thus far so if we can finally get this team to click and play some decent football then we could really go places.

Positive Thoughts

Nice to see some positive thinking!!!

I still dont think we can truly give the team or moyes so much stick until he has his full squad fit and ready to go. Yak will get a hatful by the end of the season - just watch

Timmy, Grav, Vaughn all back will make such a difference.

COYB!!

As long as its constructive criticism then I think its ok to be honest, its pointless just being happy for the sake of it. I think any good team need to be perfectionists, but also optimistic too, not just moaning for the sake of it.

Your right about those three though, when they get back I think we'll play a very much different game to the one we saw at Metalist away.

We still have some way to go but tiomes are looking better. It is clear that Moyes is nailing his flag to the mast declaring I am going to stay here for ............

Agree 100%.

Previous seasons we've played bad and lost.. now we, more often than not, get some spoils with us from a game when we play bad.

You know you're onto a winner when the gaffer starts talking about himself in the third person (y)

went to his head a little bit there didn't it.

soon it'll be, "David Moyes made a substitution...David Moyes changed his tactics."

The most encouraging thing is that moyes has started to target midfielder with flair and creativity. Fail attempt to get lucho, riquelme and fernandes prove his ambition. We still have 12 million to spend and I'm looking forward to see us getting players of that quality during the next transfer window. This is one of the main reason I'm still sticking with moyes.

When you look at it he has done an incredible job ,we were in an awful mess under walter smith and he has started at the bottom and worked his way up.
He is now near his target of winning something and the creative side of the midfield will be the last piece of the jigsaw.
Yes he has made mistakes and will make more but he is human and nobody could have done a better job than him to take us to where we are now.

We're at a point now where, in the next 2 - 3 seasons, Moyes could achieve what his fellow Scots did before him and create a dynasty, as did Shankly and Ferguson. It's beginning to feel like the eighties to a degree. I can imagine Moyes at Everton for most of his managerial career if he can keep the momentum on team improvement going for just the next few seasons.

I agree with that and the game is changing all the time its getting quicker and slicker and moyes will change with it once he gets his head round it the guy is a workaholic
