Moving nearer the neighbours?

It's looking increasingly likely that no new stadium will be built in Stanley Park and instead the RS will redevelop Anfield.

Surely then, this still leaves space in Stanley Park for the blues to move into? Ok we haven't got a pot to piss in, but this development could solve the where problem?

The how and who pays for it problem is obviously the bigger issue.

Anyone know when the planning permission lapses or if we can acquire it somehow?

Would you welcome moving to a new stadium nearby? Your thoughts gentlemen (and ladies like)

Make a big 'soccer city' thing like at the Etihad. Burger vans, car parks, rail connections etc. shared by both teams. Sorted!

If i recall correctly, if building work has been started the planning permission doesn't lapse, but this will mean us building according the the plans submitted by the RS.

Cue that inter-city nutter appearing and going on about having 87 rapid transit platforms.

When you think about it, this is something a council with vision would wholeheartedly back. It could regenerate the area. I've travelled all over and you mention Liverpool and people talk either about football (sadly usually the RS) or the Beatles. This is part of the heritage and history of our great city. A soccer city or quarter would be a great idea.

Won't happen in the current climate sadly. And when was the last time Liverpool had a council that was said to have 'vision'.

Damnit neon you beat me to it, all we need is a good inner city transport and it's good to go!

Needs a poll to see how many peeps would share a ground with our inbreed off spawn

Dunno, Clubs like M/boro, Coventry and pretty much every team minus Arsenal have all suffered from having a new stadium. Nomatter what investment we would get to build it, it still needs paying back. City were the luckiest team ever to land their stadium, thats what we could do with.

Maybe Liverpool can apply to host the commonwealth games and we can get a stadium on the sly like City did.

City getting that free(ish) stadium was the main reason they got bought and thus the key part of why they won the league this year. If you look at the investment that City's new owners are putting into Manchester you'll see that Manchester council's actions and investment paid dividends.

ENTIRELY THIS!!!

Plus why do we need a new stadium when we can't fill Goodison and before anyone says CORPORATE BOXES, half them are empty as well.

Most unrealistic troublesome idea there is while BK and his cohorts are around.

Everton are so depressing. Can't afford a new place.

There is no excuse to be so poor after 15 years of Kenwright.

I don't really have a solution, but in this day and age it's crazy to build a new stadium right next to another one in operation.

This could be because Goodison Park isn't an ideal place for Neutrals to turn up to. At a lot of the newer stadiums, you get neutrals (tourists and other wealthy) going to the matches because it is a great place to watch football because the stadium is nicer. I would imagine you could say the same about the corporate boxes as well.
