Its all a setup, he only chose Fulham because they always beat us at Craven Cottage and this season AJ's gonna be the man to win it for them

why don't we just get Fernandes and move on

Simply put he aint as good IMO.

Yea its all gone silent, but let be honest it wasnt buzzing was it, we had a sniff, we got turned down, im sure we are getting ready for a bigger sniff.

Only time will tell i suppose.

He's on the bench tonight supposedly for Sporting.

I all honesty, I do think it's still on but where still negotiating with Sporting. I expect we'll find out whether it's on or off between Sunday and Wednesday. Any later and we really shove move on.

Fernandes is a good fall-back, we've left it in a risky situation though. If Moutinho is our priority and we give up on him we'll have to rush some deals through for the Blackburn game.

Fernandes is plenty good enough. If we were to get both Moutinho and Fernandes I would be made up.

The Sporting schemer has been widely tipped for a summer move, with Everton emerging as his most likely destination after tabling a €15 million bid for the player

Moutinho himself has voiced his desire for a new challenge on multiple occasions, which did not go well with the coach, Paulo Bento, or the rest of the squad.

But Soares Franco has now quashed speculation concerning Moutinho's future, saying: "He is a player of Sporting."

The Sporting chairman also added that he is confident that the squad will do great things this season.

"I am optimistic," he said. "We did a big effort to reinforce the way the backroom staff wanted. We signed known players, who have proved their worth in national and international football. We clearly have a better squad than last season."

When quizzed on the alleged interest in Valencia's Hugo Viana, Soares Franco noted that "Sporting do not comment on potential signings.

"When there is any signing, it will be revealed," he concluded.

I have now given up on anxiously waiting for incoming transfers. The last week or so has been wrecking my head so from now on, if it happens it happens, afterall, there is nothing i can do about it.

We all say that Steve, but you watch, you'll be checking the BBC gossip column tomorrow just like the rest of us.

Well i wouldnt have minded Bentley (similar price) and moved Arteta inside, or we could do the same with Arshavin

Arshavin more of a forward than anything to be honest and Bentley went to Spurs.

I'm talking more central midfielders, which centre midfielder would be your fall-back if we miss out on Joao.

I can't see past Manny personally.
