MOTD2

You'd think its easy to get ALL the highlights into 10 -15 minutes but somehow the MOTD editors fail miserably. They seem to cut big chunks out irrespective of whether they contained important incidents or not. But they leave in long sequences focussed on the team benches. Crazy.

To be fair I do this every week for Burnley. It's not as easy as you make out, the highlights for their games usually end up between 20-25mins. Still think MOTD are very selective and poor though.

couldn't stomach it for the analysis of the liverpool game, watching them line up to kiss the s****s a**e, I gave up when they were asked if brenda was the best tactician in the league... we will see how well his genius tactic of hoofing it up to suarez/sturridge/sterling works when jose rocks up to mordor

As a license payer, it knocks me sick tuning in and seeing Mark Lawrenson sat there. I'm not sure what's worse; his punditry, his jokes, his shirts or the flab that hangs over his jeans. God awful.

Currrrrrrrlasic bantz there.

Showing Holtby putting it 10 yards over from miles out but not Naismith hitting the post with a piledriver or Baines messing up what could potentially be the best chance of the game.

They did show both of those things, but only in the talking heads discussion of how good Naismith was.

Not in the actual highlights bit.

Bizarre as hell, that.

MOTD is a dying breed. it use to be popular in the olden days when it was the only thing showing highlights, but now you have clubs' websites, internet sites and sky showing better and more in-depth highlights.

the only thing that people would turn into MOTD for would be the analysis, but it's just boring and lifeless with people like shearer and the dinosaurs of hansen and lawrenson who have been doing the job too long and have lost interest. This is also not a good thing when their punditry is god awful and un-insightful.

i barely watch it anymore, the odd week when there are loads of other games when our game has been good as well. They should have known last week when they had the highest ratings in a while with leanardo and russell brand and not a kopite in sight - but sounds like they've gone back to their kopite filled agenda - ratings will be low again - nobody but a massive following of RS would have tuned in tonight i guess.

Other lad is a journo who told us 100% Baines had signed for United

Sam Wallace

Absolutely know nothing no mark. Why have someone like him on in the first place if his only contribution is tell us how 'honest' Tim Sherwood is? Literally, that was all he said; didn't even open his mouth about Everton because of course it doesn't suit the London media's agenda to big up little old Everton, yet they couldn't shut up about Spurs' challenge for 4th even when Everton had 2 games in hand on them

Motson sounded like he was commentating from his front room, also he described richardsons chance as a miss rather than a corking last ditch tackle from McCarthy. The poor man was almost in tears when heitinga failed to score.

John Motson was terrible, awful commentator, Lawro was the worst I've seen him, talked total rubbish.

I did laugh when Owen cut Wallace off an you could hear the massive pissed off in take of breath.

So, Sherwood and a player had a fight is it true Sam, No won't be in our paper tommorrow. That was the only thing he said.

I'm not sure Lawrenson likes Chapman at all - either that or he's pretty poor at making it clear he's joking
