My 6 year old lad and I are season ticket holders in the family enclosure, we went the match early today to visit the fan zone.
After a few games of Fifa, my lad wanted to have a go at the footy training run by Everton In The Community.
Whilst I was talking to the lad running it, my son began to play with the football.
Within a minute or two, he slipped off the ball, fell flat on the floor, smashing his head and knocking himself unconscious.
The help received from the police, stewards and Everton staff in particular was brilliant. An ambulance came and we were whisked off to Alder Hey.
We missed the match, but more importantly my boy is fine apart from a massive lump and a headache.
Shortly after the match I received a call from the lad who works for EITC to check on Tom and an hour after the match, totally unexpectedly, a lady from Everton turned up at our house checking on him and giving him a brand new home kit.
Brought a lump to my throat to be fair....
It was a total accident and nobody's fault but the behaviour of everyone involved, especially Everton staff has been exemplary.

So proud to be an Evertonian tonight more than ever.

Superb that mate. Everton are really excelling in fan interaction this season.

Glad your lad is ok too and no lasting damage.

Wow. Gutted the lad had to go to hospital and miss the game, but glad he's ok. And...Everton that. Well done to the club.

Really is nice to hear the stories and see the vids of Everton interacting with the fanbase. Also loved the young lad who was with the announcer at Goodison today. The atmosphere surrounding Everton since this summer is fascinating and superb.

Glad to hear your lad is ok Bluejelly

This happened at half time. The kids announced the subs as well.

Loved having the lad announce subs. Would like to see us do this all the time and let young Blues do this.

It's like what I was talking about a few weeks ago. If a club gets into you young, it's a customer for life. We're at war with Liverpool for supporters. And as the "Red and Blue thread" showed, it's not as simple as who your dad supported all the time in Merseyside.

This is the kind of thing where that lad is going to school and Monday and will be a hero to his mates.

Was great mate, especially with the Naismith substitution, where he stuttered a bit. Goodison was well digging it. We all know Everton are special. Glad they are now showing that to the world.

so he slipped off the ball eh ??? still sounds better than naismith

only messing mate, glad he's ok and bet he's made up with his kit (y)
