Midfield without question.

A better midfield takes more pressure off the defence to begin with by us having the ball more and not having to constantly defend.
A better midfield takes pressure off the two attackers to create chances by helping them do it.

Sign defenders without midfielders and we'll still struggle for possession, still struggle for creation, still have tonnes of pressure on the defence.

If we are signing 2-3 I reckon it will be a centre midfielder and centre half, and possibly a right midfielder that can play as a forward. But short term if Iwobi can impress there we can wait, especially if no Europe. Him and Walcott as back up is enough to push the team on but to challenge for champions league of course we probably need better.

Depends on partnerships and consistency though, Leicester and Wolves are both close and neither have more talented squads than ours, just much better balanced and consistent

Midfield no question, 1 quality addition to CM and 1 quality addition to RW and this team looks 1 million times better.

We have 3 decent options at CB so not really concerned there. Coleman + Kenny / SIdibe and Digne + Baines are good cover at full back. We would need to look into getting a Digne level option at RB the following season though.

DCL and Richarlison speak for themselves. Kean will hopefully prove his worth.

Pickford is a concern but realistically we can't afford to replace him, would only be an option if say Chelsea came in with 40 mil+ bids.
