Player Valuation: £25k
yep it's still 11 men v 11 men on the field - BUT when you see how we compete and how well we're doing in comparison to our wallet flinging / cash saturated rivals, does it not give you a proud buzz that we're achieving this on a (comparative) pittance. yet there's no bleating from Bobby M - we're just forging forward with class and pride, absolutely taking the pi$$ out of our loaded'n'souless rivals.

when and if true success is achieved, I'll tell yer - it's gonna taste all the sweeter due to the LACK of a sheikh / oligarch / yankie business whopper. we are showing it can be done in the proper way......

GWWWWWWWWWWWWWAN THE TOFFEES!!!!

...and if we hit a losing streak, people will be furious that Bill still hasn't found a buyer.

When Lukaku, Barry and Duelofue head home and we realize we actually have a much lighter squad than we thought, it may not be quite so positive and our massive negative spend last season will be questioned..
But right now.. yeah, I love that we are rivals to all, and they need near unlimited funds to achieve parity with us.

Martinez always says he'll finish every transfer window stronger than we started.

I don't see why Barry would leave after this year, and it sounds like we'll get another year out of deulofeu too. We'll obviously miss lukaku but I'm sure Martinez has a plan to replace him. There will be some money in the kitty and there's no reason we couldn't continue to loan top class players either.

The world is well aware of what Lukaku is doing, and many strikers will know that the spot will be available, and that if you come here, you will get service, and you will score some goals if you got some ability.

We're going to be seen as a great destination for the mega clubs looking to get their young talent experience. Sure, I'd rather we owned them - but I'm more than happy to have a couple of loan signings a season adding that bit extra.

Well peeps keeping going on about the 3 loans but as others have said Barry is a fake loan, he's just riding out his last year of massive wages at city. I have absolutely No doubt he'll be our player next season. Delefoe has not been responsible for our posistion in the table thus far. Yes sure he's made the squad quality stronger but again I think there's every chance he'll remain for another season. Lakaku is the one where we're very lucky to have him on loan and has made the kind of difference our money couldn't of bought.

Hadn't thought of it like that.

Maybe some top strikers who aren't getting a game will fancy a loan here to show what they can do.

If we are playing well, challenging up top and have the likes of Delefeou surely if he goes back the Barcelonas of this world will look at us a s a good Club for their youngsters to get experience. Don't get me wrong I would prefer to have the money to just buy players of his quality but until we do loans are the way ahead.

However, in the scheme of things we have little debt compared to the majority of teams in the perm I would literally break the bank to sign Lukaku if or when the opportunity arises.......Ashley Cole is on his way out wonder if Jose would be interested in a straight swap Baines for Lukaku.....opinions?

^^^ Soon Everton will be the permanent home of a top class striker, but in the near term we're ok. Everyone knows RM, and what he can do. Everyone knows our name. What's our name?

Two great points. Kids will want to join the youth and do what Ross is doing and for others it's a fantastic shop window in a great environment. It may not be the way we would like it but if it works I'm happy......

Using the loan market is simply a way of levelling the playing field(a bad pun).
We cannot afford to buy a Lukaku or a Delofeu so instead we loan them at a fraction of the cost and add them to the players we develop and the players that we can afford.
The loan market allows us to put together a squad that can challenge for a top four spot(at the moment at least). The mega rich clubs buy very good players and don't use them. The problem for us may be in the future if we are too successful that top clubs cannot risk loaning us their better unused fringe players.

I know it's a gross over-simplification, but all we need is one great season, to get us fourth. It could be this season.

Think of it this way: if loan signings help us finish fourth, then we've won. We've changed the game. Then we can afford to buy this talent.
