Probably because it’s Ecuador and despite having a wide range of players who are successful in the last 20 years their league isn’t quite Brazil or Argentina standards. LDU, Emelex and Barcelona are their main teams and they don’t command the fees. €6mio is more than satisfactory for them.

Sure a more expert South American fan will be able to explain a bit better.
