If we loan him out again we lose any power.
He will have a shorter contract and everyone knows he doesn’t want to be here and we don’t want him, so we pretty much have to sell.
He will also probably only consider a handful of clubs.

I don’t think we’ll get more than £25/30m with addons possibly on too.
It was so obvious.

Unless we get a fee this summer then our FFP situation hardly changes does it?

We wouldn't be paying wages and the PL rules work over multiple seasons. It may be 3 consecutive years, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

A sale of an asset for accounting purposes also tends to be recognised in full at the date of the sale, even if the fee paid is deferred. I dont know if that is the same in football but I dont see why it would differ.

Its not ideal but as long as there is a guaranteed substantial fee, I can live with it.

So his book value would be around 10m next season and if we were to get 25m for him I guess it looks decent for the accountants. In real life, a player who's just scored 17 for PSG should be going for good money this Summer.

I think I speak for most when I say that I;m not arsed what it means for 12 months down the line, I;m arsed about what it means for the last 5 days of this window. If it just means wages freed up then it's all a bit meh.
