But thats normally the way.

Most other positions are harder, hence the reason you dont see many top class young CMs or CBs.

Attacking players will always be younger than others.
Yeah I understand that, but it still stinks that we have 3 emerging at striker and basically Holgate in the rest of the squad. It would be nice if there was at least some promise in the midfield or on the wings (I'm not counting Gordon after 45 minutes).

Gmblammo.
If I'm not putting Gordon on the list after 45 minutes I think it's only fair that Gbamin stays off after 135.

I'm not going to lie, I'm a bit scared we've done a bad Lucas Leiva on Gbamin. I don't think he's bad necessarily, but it feels like we are expecting him to come back in and magic our midfield back to competence. I think there's a decent chance that doesn't happen.

You seem really anti-everybody.

You arent alone, theres a lot of people who have simply decided every player we have is rubbish and we need a new squad.

The truth is somewhere in between for me.

We have a LOT of inconsistent players and whilst Carlo isnt a miracle worker hes getting a tune out of most. We are still Everton and we still have this weird soft underbelly that shows itself over and over again, but our players have proven they can perform and we of course need to add some quality in some pretty key areas.

Yesterday hurt, im not gonna lie and you just know it will happen again, but you shake it off and you go again, sadly the majority of people cant do that and then the negativity festers.

As for Gmblammo, I would prefer to think hes Redondo then Tom Davies, life is better that way, for me anyway, disappointment I can handle, Everton have been doing it for 30 years, but life with gloom, its not for me.

Perhaps your most profound post in the 6+ years I've been about on here.

I'm just frustrated because I think there's a really open path to real relevance for us right now. Arsenal are in a major rebuild. United need to have one and haven't started. Spurs chose to switch to a worse manager who also won't build long term. Chelsea are messing around a bit as well. Leicester are a solid side but it isn't impossible for us to be that good.

So with that current outlook it feels like all we need to do is set off on some kind of clear path to what we want to be. And part of that means being really honest about who can and can't be a part of that. I guess that means I'm down on a few players as a result, but there's guys that I've seen play 50+ times for us now and not be a CL level player for more than 10 of those games. Those guys probably need to be moved on from unless they have a really specific skill that we feel is a good fit for what we want to do.

Gbamin is honest to God in the I don't know what to expect range. I hope that in these last 14 games we can try our hardest to find out. That goes for basically the whole squad. Holgate, Mina, Sidibe, Gomes, Bernard, Iwobi, PIckford, Lossl, Kean, Gordon, and whoever else I left out beside Richarlison, DCL and Digne join Gbamin in that pot. I don't know and I want to find out. But they all need to start some games here so we can find out.

Not saying sell all immediately, but I think they all could end up being expendable if they don't fit in the system. But let's spend the rest of the year deciding on that system and testing these players for it so we can go into the summer knowing precisely what is needed, what kinds of players can fulfill those needs and which players are available for us to sign that fit. And I don't mean fit as in we need a CM so we signed a CM. I mean we need a CM who can tackle and pass the ball forward from the center of a 4-4-2 or someone deep lying who can spray passes from the deep spot in a 4-3-3. Actual system specific players that fill needs.

Honestly I really get up for our matches because I like watching DCL, Kean and Richarlison but I'm not really attached to anyone behind them at the minute aside from maybe Lucas so I'm willing to be a bit more negative than most might be. Just think they're all a bit meh. Some will still have futures here I'm sure but I can't figure out which.

I enjoyed Niasse more than probably 15 other current players at this club because at least after that first West Ham game we knew it was just one big joke. Laugh, cry, move on. The guys that aren't supposed to be jokes being jokes is worse.
