Had a better game last night, worked hard, never been so relieved to see a player score his first goal but he really needs to improve on his fitness levels if he wants to be a regular premier league footballer.

Can see him being dynamite with Calvert-Lewin. Did really well, but did get a bit tired..
Im still not sure that DCL should be the main man up front , I still think he’s lacking in some areas, but atm he is doing well so long may that last and he proves me wrong. If he can strike a good partnership with Kean then it could well balance things out as Kean is better at some things that DCL and vice versa. With Ricky in and around them 3 could be very potent and they are all young so the future could bode well. If it all does click constantly the start of next season could be very interesting. But saying that I thought Vaughn and Anichebe would be our strike for for years, look how that turned out, so still imo a working progress.

changed my opinion a bit of him yesterday , have always been ‘Hopeful’ but not much much more than that . He showed plenty yesterday, looks like there is a player in there .

Purely match fitness, the kid put a shift in yesterday and he is still getting to speed with the English game. You can only get match fit by playing.
Not sure that’s it to be honest, it seems more a general fitness thing. If he asked to come off as has been mentioned, that would suggest he actually felt tired, which isn’t really a match fitness issue. Match fitness would be more that you start to look tired, even if you don’t necessarily feel it. If you just feel out on your feet it’s probably more to do with actual fitness. In fairness last night he really put a shift in, he probably just needs to learn how to channel his energy because he did a hell of a lot of sprints.

A more forward thinking passing style with the ball played on the ground & oh look, Kean has his best game & scores a goal. Also proved by the fact that DCL was quite quiet up until his goal (which he took well tbf) because we weren't slinging in poor quality high crosses or long balls up to his head all game long like usual.
Hopefully we see this level from him from now on. I think the penny dropped last night on several things about himself & the Premier league & what is required.
More of the same please but with improved fitness & the rough edges will smooth themselves.

It’s actually a very good partnership with him and DCL, both can play of the shoulder and have pace.

Him receiving the ball over the top and playing of the shoulder is what he’s all about.

Everton need to learn how to get the opposition to play a high line and access the forwards pace in the first phase.

I’m thinking a team of Moise, DCL and Richarlison is pacy and very direct.

Either those 3 up top v Watford, or the same two strikers with richy and Bernard from the wings cutting in and collecting the ball in pockets of space.

Finally played a way to bring out the best in him and he did the unspectacular well.

Lukaku was mostly a sub at West Brom the year before we got him...building fitness...Kean will be doing the same.

We need 3 or 4 far better players behind him making good passes to release him.

One major positive from the game that we can take forward. Should be given a run in the team now, in a proper front 3 with Richarlison and DCL once we have midfielders available.

I thought he was great looked beyond his years last night, hoping he keeps getting minutes.

Definitely benefited from starting 2 in a row
