Romano does not get info from insiders at the club but from agents, so not so sure that this is the intention

Paul Joyce always tries to get a confirmation from the club before printing. Romano takes chances with agent information but Joyce never has. It is what makes this so strange.

All the journalists who get briefed by the club said it was done last night, so if that's not true it suggests the club has fed them a pack of lies - briefing we are making a signing to placate the fans ahead of a home fixture?

Never known Joyce to report something that wasn’t iron clad.

It’d be different if we were talking about a situation where a deal had suddenly collapsed for an unexpected reason, you can’t exactly knock a Tier 1 journo for stuff like that, but that report from Holland is pretty much claiming that the Everton stuff is a straight-up lie..
