Am I the only one that doesnt give a flying one if my phone works at a football match or not?
Why would you be "on call" whilst at the game?
Switch the blooming phone off and tell her arl fella there was no reception if they are looking for you....you already have that excuse built in.
The baby will come whether you are at the game or not
BTW.....I am o2 and I never have any bother with reception at Goodison.
And best wishes to you and your missus.....![]()
Was born at home on a matchday. My dad always said it was good of me to pop out at 8am, so he could get on the ale before the match, then decided whilst bevvied up to tell everyone he'd name me after the first goalscorer. In the 70s that wasn't too much of a risk, but imagine the potential today?
Yeah they should've erected a phone signal tower right from the centre of the pitch.I'm in the paddock and I get no signal at all and I'm on O2, pretty poor in this day and age,my mates get a signal at other grounds around the country! When they were on about ground improvements in the summer I was hoping this would be one of them but obviously not!!!
Howard Kendall. My dad went on the ale again after the match, and took a prawn chinese dinner in for my mother, who was resting, with me next to her. "I'm naming him Howard", he announced as he gave her the food. You can't leave it there. Who scored?
Congrats on your working testicles pal
Take her with you and see if the excitement brings on the birth, imagine having your kid born at Goodison park and 40,000 spectators staring at your missus with her legs wide open.
It's basically due to the fact of the concentration of 30000+ people in a small area... all with phones sucking up the bandwidth. If you went when the stadium was empty your signal would be fine. Some networks work better as they use different frequencies and don't have as many customers (O2 and Vodafone giffgaff etc use the same frequency). Most large footy grounds have the same problem - even Wembley, unless they have a nearby transmitter.
Never mind though, life goes on... us oldies managed for many years previously before mobile phone...
