Anyone else excited about the LAG vs NYRB game this Friday??? Even if you aren't a fan of the teams, excited about the 5 DPs! I'm really hoping this one lives up to expectations. And it's on ESPN2 - even better!

Sad to see Henry out. Even then, I think NY has a good chance of winning. LA will need to be playing at their best.

I agreed with you before the game TX Bill, NY has more depth. And it showed.

LA didn't play at their best tonight as you said. Ugh. National TV. Sigh.

Galaxy didn't have their normal back line - and it showed. Two guys that have a total of 10 MLS games between them in your starting line-up? 1-0 at the half based on a ball-watching incident. Then, a penalty. Both caused by the newbies. Gee - shocker.

Meanwhile, Juninho - LA's central midfielder, had a craptastic game. Gave balls away and made tons of horrible passes.

Landon looked gassed (and oddly nervous), but he never got the darn ball in the first place minus 1 horrible incident where he hesitated instead of shooting. He never got into this game - credit the coverage, his tired legs, and the fact that the central midfield would lose the ball 80% of the time before it ever got to him.

The biggest issue was the LA forward (Kirovski) who essentially was part of the grass in the game, that's how invisible he was. Edson Buddle was almost no better.

Tristan Bowen = where attacks in the final third go to die.

Beckham was a pleasant surprise - played with tons of energy, though he needs to quit with the hoofballs to players who clearly don't have any idea what to do with the ball (minus LD). Also - the team wasn't used to having him there and he needs to get more into a rhythm with the team.

If the Galaxy manage to work into a rhythm with Becks by the time the playoffs roll around they will be a contender. If not, it will all depend on LD showing up. Period.

Excited to see where these last few games go. Wish it wasn't a stinker, but it was. Bad defense, and bad balls out of the mid-field.

Hey hey...the Dynamo get a win. Although it was against bottom club D.C. United.

I saw that and thought of you! The opening line on MLS.com was something about the Dynamo rediscovering their pride. Good stuff. :)

Congrats!

I was at this game -- Chicago Fire home v Seattle Sounders.

Seattle's jersey sponsor is XBox.

This was a display by Section8 (home supporters group) which depicts Mario (nintendo character) destroying the turtle (bearing the Sounders logo).

I think this was a very geeky way of saying that Microsoft/Xbox/Seattle sucks and that we want to kill them.

I finally understand what this was about.. makes more sense now. Cheers
