So tonight it's New York (with Thierry Henry, Rafael Marquez, and Juan Pablo Angel) visiting Chicago with Nery Castillo, Freddy Ljunberg, Brian McBride, and Collins John....

We won't discuss the Revs transfer activity this (or any) year, I'll be busy smashing my face with a large brick....

Hey, you (NE) just beat us (DC) and we're having the worst season in our team's history. So things could be worse!

I'm going to watch the NY-Chicago game tonight. I'm excited to see Henry, Angel, and Marquez play together. And I kind of love Brian McBride, I'll be sad when he retires. When I was in England and I'd get into discussions about American footballers Brian McBride's name would inevitably come up and everyone I talked to really rated him as a player. Which pleased me.

Sounders are playing as well tonight, I usually watch (or have on in the background at least) their games cos I adore Kasey Keller. But it's not on TV here unfortunately.

Last week I saw them play in Honduras for the (CONCACAF) Champions League.. It was pouring rain, the pitch was all torn up and muddy, and there were about twelve fans there total. Crazy.

Geez, for all the talk about Kandji, he's missed three goals, two of them sitters.

And now Nery Castillo is in for Chicago.

I really like Ream. Kandji has had so many chances, I won't be surprised at all if he scores tonight.

This has been an exciting, hard-fought game. The commentators were going mental drooling over Henry ha. He is pretty great to be fair.

Chicago's keeper has kept them in the game.

Agreed on Henry. He's not 100% fit yet. Imagine the damage he'll do when he is.

Chicago's keeper did so well for them there. The commentators said they asked him which goalkeeper he most admired and he said Tim Howard. Good lad!

He's a rookie too it seems!

It's really really pleasing to be able to turn on my TV and watch Henry play. Ditto Angel, he's class.

Haha I don't know what in the world is going on now, but on the stream I'm watching the announcers are just talking amongst themselves, joking and stuff, apparently not realizing the microphones are on. This has been going on for a few minutes now.

I'm only half watching this game (Sounders/Houston). Zakuani and Montero are quite good, I expect one of them will score in the second half. Hopefully.

Oh my goodness, Montero just scored and it was BRILLIANT. The announcer was absolutely going mental. I don't know who the announcer is but there's only one of them, poor guy, and he has an English accent so hm.

Now the crowd are going mental.. People don't cheer like that at other American sports, it's quite nice to see we've imported the chanting and songs &c.

Oh wow and they just had the announcer read out this very scripted promotion thing and it was just so American, it just sounded ridiculous in his accent. 'Hey everybody!'

Well that was a great game and well worth staying up till 1am for. 2-0 to Seattle. Montero's goal came from a ball in from Keller, and then on the second goal Montero pushed a great ball forward to new signing Alvaro Fernandez, who then scored.

Seattle seems to have really turned it around this season and I'm happy for them. I'll hope they'll do well in the Champions League, too, especially after LA's pathetic exit.

Wow, I've spent nearly the whole weekend watching football. Night all..

Speaking solely as a Revs fan, when Twellman (yeah, that was him doing the analysis for the Chicago v NY match) said something like, "Watching these guys out there makes me want to get my boots on and get out there!" I had to restrain myself from smashing the remote against the wall.

Apart from that, it was a hell of a match...

Watched the Revs this weekend, realizing he didn't get a long look, but Stolica looks like he could add something to the front line.

Twellman was doing a match last week and it didn't sound good at all, as far as coming back. He sounds like he's done.

If you were watching the Houston feed on MLS Direct Kick, that was our Glenn Davis. As for the goal, Eddie Robinson should have done much better on Montero and denied him the ball to begin with. We've been getting punished by those types of mistakes this year.

Yeah, the Dynamo really never threatened the goal and we can pretty much kiss our playoff chances goodbye. In addition, lots of old legs in the squad. I think we'll see some major turnover after this season.
