I follow football to regulate excess serotonin.
Pitchers and catchers report in less than two weeks, no matter who you follow, which makes it time to roll out a fresh thread for the upcoming season. In the spring hope is universal, every youngster has a future, and every veteran is only one day away from finding his stroke.

May we have have a year worthy of the greatness of the game.

In the off season, I have often thought about how much the guy you see below would have enjoyed 2015. I haven't looked forward to a baseball season so much since I was a kid.

Play Ball!

Considering that,

1. The NL Central is, and will still likely be, the single best division in baseball, and
2. After trying to patch it together for 2 and a half years post-2011 division title, we got nothing, and finally
3. This is the first full year of a rebuild that's already looking shaky at best

I'm just going to be doing this:

While ignoring the on-field results as much as possible.

Tank hard. Draft wisely. Go Brewers.

I like the MLB much more than the NFL.

Come on Mariners!!!

Didn't know you were a Mariner's fan.

Seattle's offense was historically bad until they hired Edgar Martinez in July to be the hitting coach. From when he was hired until the end of the season Seattle had a top 5 offense. I hope that trend continues.

I was stationed up there, across the sound for over 5 years. I took on the Mariners as my baseball team while up there. Was there for the move from the Kingdome, went to one of the longest games in Mariners history....think it was the Devil Rays....lasted about 16 innings or something.

Was there for the record breaking season that ultimately came to nothing with the loss to the Yankee's in the ALCS. We even took a bunch of the Mariners out on my boat for a ride to Dabob Bay, as the ships photographer, I got to hang out with Edgar and Aaron Sele for a good few hours.

Oh, and one of my girly-type friends was sleeping with Arthur Rhodes (i think that is name, he wore the big-ass diamond earrings while pitching)

Good stuff. That 2001 season was so much fun. You were at Bangor, no?

Correct. That season defied all odds. Ultimately, not going to the show means it is barely a footnote in MLB history :/

Yeah. I remember before the season had started it was all doom and gloom. Three seasons in a row losing Griffey, Randy Johnson, and Alex Rodriguez. How is some slap hitter from Japan going to make a difference?

It was crushing losing to the Yankees that season.

For the first time this year, MLB TV will offer single team subscriptions for $85, compared to $110 for the entire package (which is actually down from $130 last year). Think I am going to have to jump on this, I'm not going to watch any other teams other than my White Sox anyways, and I got rid of my cable so will miss what few games they are on TV anyways.

Note: This is for out-of-market fans only (looks like you may be able to do it in-market, but for more money).
