Mixed Feelings

Obviously gutted we have lost ANOTHER 2 goal lead. But from what I could tell:

Mirallas lost us the game, so at least there is now no debate over whether we should keep him

We had a right good go with 10 men, rather than sitting back and waiting to lose.

A draw would have been no us to us, and at least it puts West Ham further above the RS.


All this is masking the fact that when we missed a pen at 2-0 I thought we might lose the game. I can't think of any other Everton team that I was sure could capitulate as much as this one, which does make you think something is mentally wrong. That said, it's probably because of the Stoke and Leicester and Bournemouth and Chelsea games. We badly need some leadership on the pitch (and maybe off it). I'm gutted because Martinez is skating on thin ice now, although I think if we'd had eleven men we would have won comfortably which is not his fault.

I also dont think 11 or 10 we could have seen the game out. To go 2 0 up with 15 mins left and concede 3 even with 10 men on the pitch is criminal. If we were chasing the game i could possibly accept it but when youre looking to close out the last 15 you cannot concede so freely and so cheaply with 2 headers in the 6 yard box

Mirallas made it difficult for us and was stupid but he didn't lose us the game. We lost the because we can't close out games and our complete inability to deal with crosses.

With this in mind what sort of clown makes that Niasse substitution, it was mind bogglingly stupid. This is on Martinez today. We were 2-0 up with 10 minutes to play for gods sake. 10 men or not losing from that position is unacceptable.

I wasn't saying I didn't want us to win, I was just trying to take some positives from yet another frustrating afternoon. I'm bored of getting upset about it, it's pointless.

...not sure there are mixed feelings. Regardless of Miralles getting sent off we were ahead with 20mins to go. The fact we got beat is nothing to do with mixed feelings, it's down to poor game management. Dreadful game management.
