Next doors son after passing all the test, and clearing all checks, getting his uniform and left his job, for a job with Merseyside fire and rescue service, he has been knocked back because he forgot to say on his application form that he was fined for not purchasing a train tkt when he was 19. What’s really mad is he passed all his security tests for the navy to serve on our nuclear subs.So he was ok to go to sea on a nuclear sub but fail his tests to ride in the back of a fire engine, go figure.

It's all about honesty and transparency, believe it or not you can get away with quite a bit of previous misdemeanours in official jobs if you fess up on the application form, once they have checked up and found something you've not declared then this will happen.
I feel a little sorry for him also but that's the way of the world these days when applying for jobs with any of the services.

Yeah I get that, but only joined the navy about 2 year’s ago and had to leave for personal reasons, but the fact you can get a job on one if not the most sensitive areas of the armed forces but not the FS seems plain daft.

They've tightened up on these within the forces literally over the past couple of years.

But he wasn’t turned down due to the conviction from what you are saying, he was turned down for not being completely truthful on his application, regardless of the reason.
Not being funny but applying for any of the emergency services and forgetting to declare a conviction is asking for trouble.

Paraphernalia on beds Typically found in hotels but my wife does it as well. Serves no purpose and takes forever to get rid of them and find somewhere to put them before going to bed which is a pain, especially when you just want to sleep.
