I have to teach a class and I just had a girl email me saying she cannot make it to the exam because there are tickets for a concert she is like sooooo dying to go to going on sale during the class time. Why the hell would you tell me that? You could have tried to tell me anything else to try to get me to give a crap.

It's taking all of my strength not to send a snarky response. It's not like I'm an actual teacher/professor, just a grad student. Either way, she fails the test if she misses it. How do these people even get into universities?

If I was the teacher I'd gladly straight fail her. We had one guy that would only accept real excuses, any shitty excuses were instant fails. I liked that guy, too many students take he piss.

That's what we were all instructed to do. We only accept university-sanctioned absences (doctor's note, death in the family, ect) for exams, that way it is black and white across the board. It looks a bit shady if you start letting students miss exams when you're not an actual professor.

I could not do this for a living. It's infuriating.
