That’s correct mate....sadly the intended purpose of the signs was to draw the attention of the emergency services to the fact that there may have been an infant in the car...not because they won’t look in the back seat, but because the child may be thrown from the vehicle and may be lying nearby but out of immediate sight.
You are right though that there are people that drive like absolute morons even with a child and sign in their cars. They only slow down to light up a smoke with child still in car!
