Very interesting. Thanks for posting mate.

Kind of makes even more of a mockery of that Guardian article by Paul Wilson that I posted on here yesterday, where he was basically saying we can't compete with the current top 4, and that we 'have to beat Liverpool' and 'have to beat Chelsea' (which we already did).

Obviously not everyone has played the 7 games yet, but even so, it's a good indication of where we stand when competing directly against the 'big/richer' teams around us in head-to-heads.

Interested read if not slightly RAWK-ish, but even then we're starting to swot aside the so called "lesser teams" too, so all in all we're f*cking sound, aren't we?

Going off on a tangent, but I wonder when will the Oxford English Dictionary include the word 'rawkish' with a definition covering all types of odd, obsessive and irrational behaviour

It's what the media talk about.

Sky have aired this type of graphic in the past - the top 6 against each other only.

Another valid point that can be taken from this is that City have won all 5 of their home games against the teams in the top 8 but have lost the one game that they played away. They also have the kopites at home on Boxing day. Therefore they only have Chelsea at home 2nd half of the season. Everton, on the other hand have had a mix of home and away game and taken something out of all but one of those games. If we can keep this up then we stand as good a chance as any of making the Champions League at the very least.

the rs could finish on 14 if they win both games

That said, in some response to Garrick's post--this is a reason for optimism. Liverpool have 9 games to play against the "top 8" and we have 7. Same with Chelsea and Arsenal. So weeks when they are playing top squads and have a chance to have some points nicked off, we will have real opportunities to take 3 points from the bottom 12 teams. We have already played a big chunk of the top squads and taken points from many. The biggest thing (as has been a problem in years past, maybe not this year as much) is taking all 3 points in the games we should be taking all 3 points from.

True, the rs are not going to drop many points at home, just like us. It will be the away games which will decide who get CL,

It helps that we have a good record against the top teams, just need to work on thrashing teams we're better than, although the Stoke and Fulham games have shown we're improving at that.
