This is all speculation. Until the results of the scan are known, nobody can be sure how bad the injury is, or how long he will be out for.

It wouldn't be that bad. We haven't had time to readjust to life without Arteta. We'll be better organised next time out.

Injuries to knee ligaments generally require long lay offs.
I would be suprised if we saw him again this season.
Huge blow, someone be it Pienaar, Osman, Gosling, Cahill, Fellaini, Castillo or Rodwell is going to have to really step up their game and become the heartbeat of our midfield.

Knee-jerk reactions are more prevalent here than on TW. But come on, Arteta is a very good player. He takes the corners and free-kicks. But he isn't Maradona, and to say that without him we are nothing, is a shocking insult to every other player at the club.

Gutted, awful news really. He is the one player we just can't lose, he makes us tick.

It's a must that Osman moves centrally now, he's no Mikel but he's the closest thing we have to a creative central midfielder. He worked well there last season with Carsley.

Please do not Move Fellaini into the middle Moyes, I'm begging you. Especially not alongside Neville. Rodwell or Osman for me.

I have not said he is a massive loss. But it's like losing Cahill and Yakubu. Goals galore and the best header of the ball in the world. Tiny bit of perspective needed here.

I agree, he is a massive loss. But people on here are acting like he scores all our goals and blocks every shot. He is just one player, and we have numerous players coming back from injury, who can cover his position. They may not be as good, but they can still do a job.
