Hi guys

Hoping any IT savvy beauts may be able to help this IT hack.
I have had MSE installed and running around a year now with no problems.
All of a sudden today it wouldn't load so I, painstakingly, managed to uninstall it ( after trying numerous methods via google!).
Now I am having issues installing it again.
I have followed the steps here...

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows/i-cant-install-microsoft-security-essentials

But still no success.

Any ideas? Help would be appreciated to install it again :)

Thanks folks.

haha.....ok....helpful responses! ;)
Any recommendations? or recommend a better program that won't slow my computer?

try ccleaner and use it to clean the reg, then try re install its free, if that dosnt work just install, avg free , or commodo off cnet downloads , both free and do the job,
Have you tried system restore if you want to keep mse ? just reset before the day you had problems it normally does the trick.

think i will try a system restore...just googling how to do it now

type it into search, bottom left corner. if on windows 7 or below it will pop up in the search items, if on 8 or above just type it into the spyglass icon
completed restore but because i have uninstalled mse, it still needs installing...which it won't do

go to your pc icon and go onto unistall programs, in the box on the left it will say stop or install windows programs go into there and stop it or uninstall from there then run ccleaner / reg scan to get rid of left overs , then you can reinstall it.
If its doing your head in mate it might be quicker to download one of the two free programs i put in the other posts off cnet downloads there both free and work fine, less messing about for you to do that.
ps you dont have to do anything to mse if you download them as they take over the job.
