I couldnt find an old Michael Owen thread so started this after seeing this

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is planning a £12m bid for Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, as Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Owen prepare to leave Old Trafford.

On the rumour mill

Is Owen worth a punt...I reckon he is and would be cheaper than Berbatov ;-) MUCH cheaper

Personally I have always wanted to see the boy in the blue for us

Or whether Everton attack through the middle?
 
Didn't we just offload a crocked player? Perhaps the medical staff are lonely, in that case...worth a punt.
 

He wouldn't be a starter in our team but I would have him as a squad player and would be a great option off the bench when needing a goal BUT.....

He's always injured... He's been available for about 3 weeks all season for utd and there's the massive problem with him.

On top of all that... I do feel he blew a chance of a move to us when he went utd. Definitely when he renewed this season knowing he wasnt going to play!

Not sure Owen is even assed about playing anymore!?!?
 
:D I guess D/D should sort it to first look from thread titles and not as a secondary option. I wouldn't have him. He's old, expensive, half-dead.. We have Jelavic / Stracq / Vellios / Anichebe as options and I think now we should be ok striker wise.
 

Owen would be worth a shot, but berbatov would be so much better. But him up with a striker who will do the running like chill or straq and we are sorted
