2025/26 Michael Keane

He's no worse than Tarkowski and probably better than him so far this season.

Problem is , that's not a high bar.
100%...as fourth cb we could do a lot worse. In fact he is slowly but surely becoming perhaps the one starting alongside Branthwaite when back fit. Moyes will have very difficult decisions to take shortly which can only be a good thing

He's playing very well and its a big compliment that im not longer concerned when I see him in the starting lineup.

His form allows us to let branthwaite recover properly and not be rushed back early..

However, once hes back, branthwaite allows us to play further up the pitch, his pace and reading of play allow us to take more risks
I concur with the sentiment of this. In general, this season I think he has been playing as well as he can and is doing a good job there. Just keep that up and I for one can ask no more of him. At the minute he's playing like a mid-table PL central defender and he has a goal in him - not bad at all for a 4th choice CB.

Dont think that will be the case tbh lad isn't vocal enough. He deserves to be on form, but think Tarks suits Branthwaite by talking him through games.

….always find comments like this amusing, just because you can’t hear a player from the terraces doesn’t mean he’s not communicating. He might not be vitriolic in his actions but he could still be a communicator on the pitch.

Ratcliffe and Labone, two most successful captains wouldn’t be seen as ‘shouters’ from the sidelines, yet they clearly got their message over.

Also yes I know its Reddit and might be wrong, and not laying the boot in as he's been really steady so far, and yes its cherry picked:

The defence wasn’t our issue at all yesterday.
This is objectively false.

Michael Keane was constantly out of position and that contributed to both goals.

Also, Liverpool doubled on Grealish and Ndiaye. If we had fullbacks that were comfortable enough in possession to invert and pick a pass we would have been able to force Liverpool to adjust freeing up our wingers to be more creative and have more space.

Look at the goals we've conceded this season - the 2 tonight, both in the derby, both goals for wolves in the league game.

All shots taken from more or less the exact same position. Keane's position. Left side of our 6 yard box.

Thats literally every single goal we've conceded this season barring the penalty v Leeds.

Coincidence?

that’s why he needs binning off when Jarrod is back

Contender for worst post I’ve read on here, kudos 👍🏻

It's mind-boggling how defensive people get when you state facts about this player. Look at the stats. Watch the goals back.

We concede 2 goals virtually every time he plays. As I said go back and watch every open play goal we've conceded this season, every single one is scored from the position he's supposed to be defending.

Branthwaite will come back into the team and we miraculously will stop leaking goals, same as last season. But apparently it's ludicrous to notice any kind of pattern here.
