Moyes has done many good things since returning but it’s beyond his powers to turn Michael Keane into a competent centre back.
It’s like he realised it was possibly his last Goodison appearance so crammed all of his greatest hits into a half hour special. Stupid tackle to get booked, galavanting into midfield and getting nowhere near the ball, misplacing passes and generally spreading panic through the rest of the players and the crowd. The only thing missing was a handball to concede a penalty.

Moyes knows what a calamity Patterson is, that's why - like all other Everton managers - he wont play him.

Don't care who it is as long as its not Keane

It’s so weird about Patterson and his history here. I know he’s not a starter. But when he comes on I feel it changes things up. And he looks up the pitch to press. I never see that in Keane. Keane coming on causes anxiety in the fans and instability in the back line defence. It’s got to be sonething more interpersonal or his work rate in training that’s keeping him off the pitch.

Asking him to come on in that game was like asking me to - difficult to refuse, but a terrible idea.

No way will Moyes start Keane after that disaster show. No choice but to try JOB at centre back and, I would guess, Young at right back.

We're going to need a lot of new players in the summer - at least one more centre back, a right back, cover at left back, cover for Gueye, repalcement for Harrison on the right, a left winger and a centre forward.

BTW that first goal was more Branthwaite than Keane's mistake. He just didn't get there to stop that reaching O'Reilly.

Hopefully that was his last appearance in an Everton shirt. He is absolutely dreadful. Playing with ten men is a better option then having him on the pitch. He creates panic around all his teammates and is an utter liability.
