Still holding out some hope that he's one of those centre backs that looks half decent when partnered with a competent player (assuming we only bring in one CB). I'm guessing that's how he genuinely looked a good defender at Burnley.

He looked a good defender at Burnley, as they defended on their 18 yd box. He`s hopless in any other system.

We can moan all day about this lad but quite simply our failure to replace him this summer the club only have themselves to blame

Five days left of the window and still we need two centre backs amongst others.
 

Feel.sorry for the lad to be honest. We've bought a big grock of a centre back, and now we are asking him to play expansive football in a high line. If we say in our own box and asked him to head anything that moved we'd all love him by now
 
You mean like last season when he was utterly gash aswell

No doubt he had some poor performances (not nearly as many as most of the squad), but we didn't even sit in our own box last season. We gradually moved everyone up the pitch with about 400 sideways passes before being caught out on the break and looking confused about it
