Does anyone know if our former left-back Michael Ball has officially retired? Since City released him a year ago (I think he was recovering from an op) I recall seeing him linked with a couple of clubs but nothing coming of it.

It was Rangers where he got most of his injury problems I thought Matt. Didn't he go abroad after Rangers and come back to City on a free?

He played injured for us for many games, basicallt living on shots to keep him standing. I think those games really ruined his career and was the grounding for his injuries later on. Really loved him when he was playing for us.

He's one of the players that I really wished well in the future when he left us.

Incorrect, unfortunately...it was pretty much us that hosed his knee with injections. Deserves a pint in any pub you happen to see him in, IMHO.

He went to PSV Eindhoven and won the league with them, i think.

Thats why I used to like him so much. He was a great LB and clearly an actual fan. But we were a selling club at the time (some would argue still are) and he was a good young prospect. Its a shame his career is over.

Feel sorry for the lad, a promiseing career ended terribly, Rangers was a massively wrong move for him - yet we really took them to the cleaners with the transfer fee.

Baines is twice the palyer he ever was though to be fair.
