I'd be swerving the northern border cities like but as for you main tourist hubs: Huatulco, Riviera Maya, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta etc it's pretty ace and hard to swerve the paradise thing going on there. Acapulco has seen some moody stuff happening a bit close to home I read but that's over the hill anyway.

The thing is, where will it end. A few years on and it seems that when the Government step up their efforts, so do the cartels. And in the meantime a lot of people are dying.
