Messi "best player of all time"

I always find it strange that people have to find certain stats to prove that their favourite is the best. Why can't we just enjoy both of the 2 best players of our generation for what they are?

And anyway, Maldini is the greatest of all time anyway

Fact is, Messi’s dribbling and vision is in a different level to Ronaldo’s. Ronaldo has actually become quite one dimensional and focuses only on goals now, while Messi has so much more to his game. I actually feel Wayne at his peak was a better all-round player as well. Ferguson ruined Rooney to a large extent by using him as a utility player due to his versatility.
