Ronaldo will be known for having the bottle to try different leagues and dominating them in the process
yup choosing to play for the richest and most successful English team before choosing to play for the richest and most successful Spanish team before choosing to play for the richest and mos
t succesful Italian team displays indescribable bravery

He played with him for a couple of seasons before he made the step up to be as great as he is today.

Rooney also thinks it's OK to drink and drive and shag grannies so I wouldn't say his judgment is the best...
id say his opinion holds more weight than mine or yours mate. Ronaldo’s last 2 seasons with Utd were as good as most he had for Madrid . Him Rooney and Tevez was as good as any front 3 I’ve seen in this country

Oh and grannies need loving too .

wouldn't say he dominated liga nos or the prem and as of yet he has not dominated serie A

the only year he truly dominated in the prem was 07-08 imo

if Ronaldo dominated the prem based on just those 3 years from 06-09 then you could say lukaku is dominating the prem now
He was averaging just over 1 in 2 ratio at utd in the league and won pretty much ever trophy while there aswell as winning 3 players player of the year awards 2 player of the year awards and a young player of the year award so I'd say he did quite well

Meanwhile the Argentinian midget gets a nose bleed if he drives outside of barcelonas city limits

hes also one of the best footballers this country has ever produced and shared a pitch with both players...kinda difficult to dismiss his judgement so easily.

he did well but I wouldn't say he dominated the prem

if he had stayed longer perhaps

Just look at international level, the midget flops for Argentina and isn't loved by his people meanwhile ronaldo drags a bunch of pub league players to his level and is treated like a god by the Portuguese nation.

Has messi got a statue of his face in an airport ????

I assume those who dismiss Messi for not having done enough in a World Cup, put Cristiano Ronaldo behind him on their all time list, given that Messi scored 4 goals in the group stages in 2014 and lead them to the Final winning player of the Tournament? Ronaldo on the other hand scored 4 goals in the group stages this World Cup and his team were knocked out in the last 16. He has never played in the World Cup Final so can't be ahead of Messi, if using this line of argument.

Similarly, both Cristiano Ronaldo and Pele along with every player on these lists must surely be discounted as they also have played their careers surrounded by the World's best which is an argument used to write Messi off? Pele played for an International side that won 3 World Cups, with the famous Carlos Alberto goal being arguably the best team goal of all time. Pele wouldn't have won all he had if he wasn't in such a good team...Cristiano Ronaldo has played in a team that has won 3 of the last 4 CL's. So therefore his ability has only been helped by playing surrounded by such good players surely?

I don't think these types of arguments carry much weight. You have to judge the player themselves with individual, and to an extent team achievements factored in. The argument that he didn't step up when it was needed most is the worst argument i've heard yet though. He's done it every single season he's played the game or close to it.
