To be fair, outside of the World Cup Pele only scored down the local park with a flyaway.
National team: 92 games, 77 goals ,won three world cups 58.62,70 kicked out of the 66 world cup, funny enough the only one Brazil didn't win while he played .
Have a look at footage of the Sweden , Bulgaria , Portugal games if you get the change and see what he had to put up with, great player

Maradona lad...played in Blue ;)

This World Cup just keeps on getting better all the time

France have been a revelation, a new true superstar is born, really good to watch and Argentina's obvious naivety and defensive horror show has just added to the spectacle.

With Mbappe, France have the new Messi or Ronaldo, as the old masters bow out, the new one arrives

How appropriate it should end here for the Barca stalwart.

Never really done it at international level unlike Ronaldo or the greats before.

Never shown in another league or with another challenge, always been in the Barca bubble with a team that plays to him.

In the final analysis that will count against him

Uruguay remind me so much of Atletico, such a solid and well organised defence is usually only found at a top club renowned precisely for that.

Uruguay's defence won't leave the space in behind or let Mpabbe run at them like a ragged naive and older Argentinian one did, with Mascherano the midfield cover in front particularly poor.

He was so bad he wouldn't have looked out of place in the Southport and district Sunday League.

Uruguay like Atletico can soak up large amounts of pressure hitting swiftly on the break.

In Godin and Giménez they have quality defenders and Suarez and Cavani offer the bite (not literally )

lol

That half of the draw is looking tougher by the game

...you appear to have missed out CL wins. :coffee:

Ronaldo has won 3 Champions Leagues, the Euros and La Liga in his "twilight" years. Was hoping he'd win the world cup and rub it in the Argentinian Midget's face, but it doesn't change the fact that watching him is to be in the presence of greatness
