2025/26 Merlin Röhl

Physically strong and quick on the turn and across ground.

Poor passing and didnt effect the game in an attacking sense.

Jury out for me.

Loan this season and £17.5mil if we arent relegated
Think is both sides really is just keeping him fit so we can get him more game time, could see moments in the gsme eas looking to break forward and also good tracking back to win the ball back. As you say looks to cover the ground fast and looks strong. I would like see him used more would put it down to the lack of games about his passing

His poor passing was a feature of his whole time in senior football in Germany and was why I was hugely sceptical of the signing at the time.

Willing to give the club the benefit of the doubt on our scouts thinking it can improve because he's a) young and b) never had a chance to settle in one position. But it's definitely the thing that will either make or break him as a player - either it clicks and he becomes a beast or it never does and he becomes baby Soucek.

For me, its his injury record. Poor passing being a "feature" of his game is quite a funny one.

Him and KDH for me are the 2 odd signings.

Interesting that there has been lots veiled comments about how impressive his “physicals” have been at FF. Then he drops into his interview about “showing his speed.” Not always easy to judge a players speed when they play in busy areas. Possible we have accidentally bought him and only then found out he has plenty of raw pace. 🤞🙏

All the talk of Barry getting 6 games in a row, I’d definitely be doing the same with Rohl, right now, even if it means Gana, KDH getting a few rests, or taking the opportunity to move Garner to RB etc. Not done anything earth shattering yet, but clearly going to be the summer purchase that gets up to speed first.
