My opinon :
Koeman thinks Depay has potential , but is not 100% convinced by him , at least not enough to pump the kind of money Utd are demanding into a straight transfer.
Koeman would like the loan with option to buy, even with possibly a slightly higher buying price included in the deal.

Utd realise this is a risky strategy for them as a failed loan will further reduce his value. They want a straight loan now, but the problem they are facing is there seems to be very limited demand for the player.

I think Everton are waiting quietly on the sidelines waiting to see what Depay wants, because ultimately he will get his way.
If Depay decides he wants to work with Koeman.

Side note, pretty sure we will sign him over the next few days, think Lyon are getting played by his agent to get us to come in earlier than maybe we planned
The lad must be on £125k a week at united probably more so will have to take a Pay cut wherever he moves bar China.

No idea what French teams outside of psg pay but you would imagine absolute tops £70k surely we will blow them out of the water.

Depay - think he is reported to be on 100k pw mate

as for Lyon - think when Lacazette signed a new contract it was the biggest in the clubs history at 77k pw or something

Betting man, think Lyon are using it as a PR stunt to show their ambition and actually couldn't actually afford him anyways, hence the 10m, 12m, and now reportedly , 14m bids for a player which have all been turned down

No, not at all.

My criticism of the Esk in the summer was that he failed to manage expectations. The facts remain:
  • We were - at a point - more likely to sign Witsel than not.
  • We tried to sign players, to no avail. Clubs weren't selling, or willing to negotiate.

Which is exactly what anyone with eyes knows if they start saying a LOT of ITK stuff, the consequences on the forum in the aftermath was very very predictable

Nothing he said was a lie. Just jumping the gun a little and it blew up in his face.

Wasnt this what his after cup game rant was suggesting?
I'd say so yes, hence the 'rush' to get schneiderlin done, but i think they've just eased off again after that and seem to be using that and the 'we have until the end of the window' as a bit of an excuse.

I could be well wrong though to be fair, but it's something that worries me. If it's happening then it'll cause a big rift eventually / stop progress.
