it's actually 7 goals in 28 starts in all competitions. your 2 in 33 in the league doesn't account for the fact 17 of those were from off the subs bench. Depay is class.
So he has 16 starts, 33 total appearances, and 2 goals. Yet people are on Yannick about his numbers not being good enough and no end product, blah blah blah. Del doesn't score enough yet has very similar production to this lad. He might turn out great, but he's hardly done a thing against premier league opposition.

Scoring against crap teams in cups hardly proves anything different than his Dutch league output. Maybe he's a star at that level but not this one? I honestly have no idea. Just seems like a gamble at this point.

Don't agree with slating other leagues. There are different paces of course and styles of football but Depay is good enough to succeed in the Premiership. Suarez was good in Holland and great in the Premier League and now plays for Barcelona. He took time to adjust to the Premiership and only scored 4 in 13 games in his first season. Henrik Larsson was brilliant in Scotland and went on to impress for Barcelona and Man Utd. Depay has the class and skill and ability to be our best player. Mourinho has admitted it's a shame he couldn't give him chances.

All I'm saying is that for every Suarez to come out of the Dutch league setting it on fire, there are multiple Jozy Altidores and Alfonso Alves's who just can't do it at the Premier League level. Maybe Depay has it, and maybe he doesn't. We don't know yet. Worth a shot? Sure. Not my money anyways. That said, I feel like some people want him because he's a shiny young player who had a bunch of hype 2 years ago. He's not shown anything in this league yet.

Call me daft but why do people even criticize Depay for attitude? Is there any actual evidence to suggest his attitude is crap

Memphis is awful, he is a bang average player who would be lucky to succeed in the championship let alone the premier league. He can't beat any decent fullback with his dribbling, he lacks pace, his end product is awful, bad decision making and not to mention his awful attitude.

Woodward will be laughing to the bank if you lot purchase this guy, I think Everton should be aiming a lot higher imo, especially if you want to challenge for top 4 regularly in a few years.

Bolasie is way better than Depay.

If Depay was that awful, a club like United wouldn't have paid the money they did for him.

He's an undoubted talent who just hasn't had a good time at a particular club. There's loads of players who play well and are in good form at one club but move away and lose their confidence. Any signing is a gamble for this very reason. I personally would love us to sign him.

Depay can dribble, has pace, is strong and has end product. His attitude on the training and in matches isnt bad either. The only thing people moan about is that he walks around like Michael Jackson and buys expensive cars.

The only thing he needs is games and confidence. He will be a sensation for us, much better than Mirallas and Deulofeu.
