Can you not just block the number or are they spamming from different ones? If so that’s a massive red flag.

Aye tried blocking but just came through another. Complete pack of jobbies. I can handle it of course but just thinking about the elderly couples on my street probably getting duped into milk orders they don't really want, or as I've read, don't even turn up.

Dunno if this is happening in anyone elses area but seems like these absolute gypos are now targetting Cumbria for vulnerable victims.

Got a couple of texts off them yesterday saying "thanks for using McQueens dairies, your first order will be 27th Nov blah blah", then had a fella knock on my door at about 5pm but I didn't answer, just had a phonecall to voicemail off them etc.

Haven't ever placed a delivery order with them, never even heard about them till yesterday, but been reading online that this is an aggressive sales tactic by them to try and coerce people into joining up and they're a nightmare to get rid of.

If you get a text/call off them, or a knock on the door, kick them in the nards.

I have family living in Whitehaven and there not mentioned it although I don’t know if that’s local to you, Cumbria is a big place eh?

Also we should probably say Travellers to avoid getting any stick and that.

Really not a surprise so many elderly people get scammed as the scammers are getting better and better at it. Some of the text ones are especially convincing.

A really good new feature in the new iOS is call screening. Since it’s been introduced I haven’t had one scam/marketing call get through to me. I used to just blank unknown numbers anyway but now I don’t even have to do that. I imagine this has probably been on Android for a while as Apple are usually slow to these things but I’m very happy it’s been introduced.

It seems a weird thing to be getting hassle from, do you have any idea where they have gotten your details from?

Christ knows, but our data is out there everywhere isn't it. You can request your data is erased from their database though, I think, but like I'd ever get a response to that.

Aye I'm about an hour ish south of Whitehaven, but they're a Scottish firm I think, so likely are in that area if they're moving south.

So it's fine to indiscriminately associate Travellers with scams just so long as we don't use any derogatory terms?

Several people claim they offered a 'free' milk trial by Glasgow-based firm McQueens Dairies, but were then sent bills. The company say several complainants have been refunded and they will 'take the feedback back to the business'.
