Jose Mourinho definitely number 1 choice. but I reckon Martin O'Neil would do a great job as boss too I doubt he would pick the likes of Lampard who I have not seen put in a decent shift at all in a England shirt.....for the past year.

Lampard just does not do it for england i agree make him work to get back in the squad if he is good enough which i think he is he just seems to lack passion and drive.

Well he has never really shown much or contributed. He's 29 - not getting any younger.

But like Beckham, he will not want to give it up, and if Jose comes in - who knows what he could do?

Yup, The sound bytes he was coming out with before the game should've been a warning to Steve Mac, everyone was saying how England should take the chance and how they're going to try their best...etc.

He came out and said I hope the crowd don't get on our backs. For an England international that's not the kind of attitude you would have expected from him.

I agree about his lack of passion and drive, some of the players in the current England set up should be left out cold and dry for a long period and not just a couple of matches like Lampard was. because they know that when the big game comes they'll be playing anyway.

Did you see the jocks against italy they showed pride and passion and went for it then when you watch england there is nothing we talk a good game but a lot of them can,t be bothered

Your right. But its all arrogance, flash cars, blah blah blah.

The one's coming through have the same desires. You have to say those parents of the likes of Baxter will have pound signs in their eyes. Sad, but coming from rough backgrounds like most footballers do its an opportunity for them to have a better life. They need to understand that England is not about money.

Yeah I did, now that was a match!

even though the Scots got cheated out of the match right at the death by a cheating ref but you look at that Scotland side and you could say hand on heart that everyone of those players played as if they were representing their country you look at England and I can only pick out Beckham and maybe Crouch and Lescott.

The next coach to come in best instill a sense of national pride into our squad some of the players played like it was a burden to play for England when it should be a privilege.

as much as mourinho would be a good manager, if he actually achieved anything the world might collapse inwards due to his smugness creating a sort of black hole.

Whoever it is, they need to have a thick skin and be able to give the media and the fans two fingers whenever the crap starts flying.

Now who would be ideal in that type of role?

Jose Mourinho.

so he has been payed off? i bet hes gutted, why didnt he push to see his contract out whilst doing nothing a bit like the fiasco with the parasite managing city.
