I know he's only 17 but it's not overly common to have trials with multi-million pound transfers is it ? If four clubs are after you and one wants a trial surely you'd tell them to do one & sign for the club that actually 'wants you ' , I suppose unless everyone wants a trial but if he's as talented as people seem to be saying thr trial side of it seems puzzling .

He had a trail with Arsenal few weeks ago and they have refused to pay more than 2 million for him with rest being future payment. The word was that he was very raw and needed alot of work, but has alot of talent

this did cross my mind also but i suppose at 17 maybe he wants to go somewhere where he will feel comfortable. saying that if you have the calibre of clubs looking at you that apparently this kid has a trial does strike me as a bit odd.

Mightbe because of the money involved and Everton being Everton don't want to risk 5/6 million on a 17 year old without seeing if he could fit in

He's 17 and in ligue 2. I'm sure Caen are sending him around on trials for clubs skeptical of their asking price (like Arsenal).

For once I've got to disagree with you Sheeds mate.

If you're 17 and demanding that kind of price, and you also play in a somewhat obscure league, then a trial isn't crazy. I wouldn't expect us to spend that kind of money on someone so young without one.

That said it is unusual to trial players who have big transfer fees. Usually it's something you only see with free transfers or very young players looking for an academy.

Ty Browning just told me he did 27 keep ups using his right and left foot and he runs so fast the grass smells funny afterwards.

Knowing Moyes if we did sign him for 6m he will go straight into the youth team and we would be told he needs to be eased in 2 or 3 years down the line

True in most cases. Not sure about the Arsenal trial but I assume for us it's because Moyes wants to see if the lad would be ready to play in the PL right away or whether he'd need a year or two. It wouldn't make much sense to spend a large sum on a prospect who can't immediately contribute to the first team squad.

No I accept the points above & seeing the £2m figures quoted makes a bit more sense as if you are a £6m player trials are pretty much not really in the agenda . I don't really know anything about him so I was taking this £6m and press (FM ) reports at face value which is always dangerous . I basically couldn't square a young star with a multi million price tag with schlepping around clubs looking for a deal but having looked at the text above it makes a bit more sense.
