Mayor Joe Anderson

Not sure I understand the criticism, Saturday evening, what's a mayor supposed to be doing, opening a supermarket? Ffs

We complain our politicians are not connected to reality, yet here's one on a phone-in (he never said he was the mayor by the way) giving his views on the match and the club.
He also seems to be trying to help a city institution develop and progress, whilst also improving the docks area.

Very fickle some people
Quite.

Would these detractors rather he were a rs? Perhaps they'd prefer it if he were trying to block the new stadium?
Imagine the fume then!

What on earth are we like as fans! Sake!

People are massively over exaggerating the amount of power held by a mayor of a local authority.

I like him. He's entitled to a view like every other fan. He's not said anything we'r not thinking ourselves.

I can kind of see the point of the OP

Imagine if he was a Kopite and was banging on about them all the time? I doubt we'd be happy

It shouldn’t matter either way. Steve Rotherham (Metro Mayor) is a season ticket holder at Anfield, has appeared on LFC TV and has always been quite vocal in his support for the reds, but I can’t remember many blues being critical of him?

I’m sure he was even forced to issue an apology at one point for tweeting/re-tweeting something in support of Suarez during the Suarez/Evra racism incident, but I can’t remember anyone questioning his capability as an MP as a result of it

Rotherham is a good bloke, with a great vision for LCR. At no point should the team he supports come into it. Trouble is, in a city like Liverpool, if you side with one, your criticised by the other. If you side with neither, your criticised by both.

Joe has lots of failings, lots of them, but I do belive that he tries to do things that benefit the city, and the people within it. Regardless of who they support.
