Surely getting relegated means you have to sell your players off cheap because you can't afford the wage bill?

It certainly used to.

Depends if they can afford the wages, the balloon payment can cover it. Or the players werent on high wages and may have had clauses in their contacts to take wage reductions if the team get relegated.

West Ham seemed to be fine last season with 60k a week players on their wage bill.

They were gambling on coming straight back up, I guess. It's when you miss your grace period of the first year or two that it gets you.

I think they openly admitted if they'd lost the play-offs they would have had to massively trim down the squad , they took a chance and it paid off

£9m?!?!!

West ham 9 mill

And even that got knocked back!. £9m for Jarvis, knocked back. £12m reportedly for Fletcher, knocked back!. I know you should hold out for as much as poss when your the selling club but them 2 are nowhere near worht them amounts!.

Good players and personally i like em but to want more than 9 and 12 million, there dreaming!.

If Wolves make a combined £21 million for Jarvis and Fletcher, you can just tell that the Gods of fate will see to it that we sell Baines for less.

£9 million for Jarvis?
Day light robbery.

£3 million at most, he is average at best.

He's better than Matt Phillips though, who Moyesie seems intent on getting his mitts on. Can only assume it's us who Ian Holloway is going to report for tapping-up, right?

£9M ENGLEESH STERLING POUND OR £9M LIVERPOOL TRANSFER MARKET POUNDS?
