Was a fair estimate. Still is.
Ghana outplayed the US. Portugal were way more poo than expected.
It's not insulting the US to say that their position is surprising. It's a super difficult group.
I personally wouldn't have been surprised with the US finishing 2nd, or not getting a point. Think it's fair for anyone to have expected any outcome between those two.
It's doesn't mean you think a team is bad when you expect them to lose to some of the(expected to be) best teams in the competition and a team that knocked them out two cups running.
America can still technically knock the Germans out

he I Believe I Can Campaign is both awful and incredibly awesome at the same time. I love it, its funny as hell to hear a crowd cheer it or Timmy to do it on the commerical. Its not life and death for us. We'll move on a good 2-3 days after we are eliminated (OR WHEN WE ARE WORLD CUP NATINAL CHAPIEENS!!). Its summer, the weather has been great and we are having fun.
