I think MF gives us a sort of Plan B with a direct option, if the lad is off then he will need to go into the market and get a player who can give him the option up front.

Nothing new this summer, but there's a lot of dead wood we could have moved to pay for a young prospect striker

The Chelsea game will be a very good indicator for us in terms of our system and players in terms of the early season progress against a title contender. I am not expecting a win but should be interesting to see how we cope with more or the less the same players in a new system.

Have said it all along i think it will be one of those seasons some good games some bad till the manager gets to know the players to fit into this system and the players settle into it. We are going to need a plan B until it settles into place sometimes.early days yet if it was jan and we were playing like that it might be worring but not right now.

Just got back from the game.

Kone, Naismith and Osman all had shockers. Kone deserves time though and luckily for him, after tonight the only way is up.

Barkley and Deulofeu particularly impressed.

I think we actually played alright tbh. We just badly need to work on our finishing.

What was also apparent tonight is just how easily teams can catch us swiftly on the break, even Stevenage were capable of providing us with a few scares tonight.. :/
To be fair they did have Usain Bolt up front.

Went to the match and enjoyed it, thought we played better than the West Brom game. Passing was faster, just lacked creatively. Neismith just isn't good enought and Osman had a shocker. Kone seems to have become Jelovic when shooting.

Have to say I felt sorry for Steveage as the only made mistake they made lead to Fellainis goal.

I heard a few blues booin and I was in lower Gwlayds next to the fella who moaned and pointed out the obvious every 30 seconds.

That was awful .to slow no penetration going forward to easy due to the tempo to counter .boring as well hope it was just one of those nights.we need. A couple of midfielders or we will struggle to get. results.

I feel RM deliberately put out a poor team to show BK how bad some of our squad really are - I believe Osman - Kone - and Naismith were poor according to Ronnie Goodlass on RM!

No idea why we persisted with Heitinga, Distin and Stones on the pitch marking one lone striker who had next to no support. Wasn't impressed by the formation or the tactics, Naismith was drifting inside too much which gave us poor balance on the flanks.

Passing needs to be sharper, really is agonising to watch us allow the opposition to get XI men behind the ball before mounting an attack. Stones played well, and the Barca lad was impressive too, if a little naive in with his decision making. Plenty of ours had poor games but we all know who they are already.
